Les Cheneaux Historical Museum

The Historical Museum is dedicated to preserving the traditions of the people of the Les Cheneaux Islands.

Located in downtown Cedarville, in the heart of the 36 islands, the Les Cheneaux Historical Museum aims to showcase what daily life in the Eastern Upper Peninsula was like from the days of the Native American tribes through today.

Your tax-deductible support of this Musuem will help us to maintain and expand our exhibits.

Paul Wilson Workshop or Mariner’s Library

The Paul Wilson Workshop is a real boat building shop located inside the Les Cheneaux Maritime Museum. Each year the Workshop and our Volunteers build a boat to be raffled at the “Boat Show”.

The Mariner’s Library at the Les Cheneaux Maritime Museum houses thousands of boating and boat building books, periodicals, charts, and maps. Access to the Mariner’s Library is for Historical Association Members and their guests.

Educational Programming

We believe learning is a lifelong journey that transcends all ages and backgrounds.

A contribution in support of our Educational Programs helps our visitors to explore the fascinating history of our region—engaging and inspiring interaction with our traditions & heritage.
